Weichai to launch ¥100 billion green power project

Weichai Group (Weichai), China's leading heavy-duty engine maker, announced its ¥100 billion ($14.7 billion) green power project and 1.5 million unit diesel engine production plan at its headquarters in Weifang, Shandong Province. At the event, Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai, revealed the company's long-term target, which is for its engine business to generate sales revenues of ¥50 billion in 2012, ¥80 billion in 2015 and over ¥100 billion in 2020, becoming the largest engine manufacturer in the world.
