Zhongtong sells over 4,000 new energy buses through to April

LIAOCHENG, Shandong – Zhongtong Bus sold 5,300 units of buses in the first four months of the year, up 70 percent on a yearly basis. Sales of new energy buses exceeded 4,000 units and contributed to the company’s ¥3.1 billion ($476.9 million) total sales revenue with an increase of 143 percent, according to a company press release.

Zhongtong delivered more than 4,000 units of electric and plug-in hybrid public transport buses as well as its Landi light buses through to April this year. Market share of Zhongtong electric and plug-in hybrid bus have exceeded 26 percent in the first quarter of the year, ranking No. 1 in the industry, according to statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Product range of Zhongtong Bus covers 6-12 meters electric and hybrid buses. The company sold nearly 2,500 units of 8-meter electric buses through to April this year and grabbed the spot of champion of the length sector.

Zhongtong took up a market share of 95 percent in Shandong Province from January to April and almost covered the provincial capital, prefecture-level cities, and county-level cities, said the company.
